Journal: A week in the life of Chuuwee

Good Afternoon everyone, I  (Chris Mordi, creator of site) have decided to begin a weekly journal entry from three rising artists in the industry. Consider it a inside look at the artists life. Lookout for topics discussed such as tour and concert appearances, collaborations they have done and more.

Each artist will handle the journal section for a six week period. Three will be featured each time,  making journal entries on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The second artist chosen was Cali native Chuuwee. Chuuwee is currently working on a joint project with Jamla artist Sundown (of group Actual Proof) as well as currently touring. Checkout Chuuwee's journal entry below, and show love on twitter @ChuuweeTus.

The saga continues. This time I got a hell of a story for you guys. Tijuana, Baja California Mexico.
We arrived shortly after 8pm 3 taxis deep mobbing across the mexican freeway. As soon as we arrived to what i believed was the venue the promoter hops out of his cab unaware of where the club is.  He then turns to me and says "Oh we just have to find where the club is." Mind you i know very very very little spanish. (Senior, Gracias, Queso, Yes, and some other useless words to be exact).

I turn to the kind people around us and ask, "Excuse me Senoir, Donde Vulgo Bar?" Never heard of it. In Fact no one in mexico seemed to have had of it. Interesting. So then the manager says "Someone pull up the flyer." Which would have been lovely had we gotten phone service but yea thats right WE ARE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY.

So the driver of the cab Abstract & TBC were in goes "Fuck that I don't trust this mutherfucker i'll help you find it" Thank Buddha. After about 20 mins of driving we end up right up the street from where we first started only 2 of our friends are missing. We walk up and down the street looking for them and finally find some people speaking english to ask where the club was.

So as we make our way to the infamous unknown club we see the promoter who seems to go unaffected by all the nights events. "Hey we found the club!" he greets me with a drunk ass smile and I reply "Where the fuck is my potnah." We follow him to the club, on the way, we see a flyer for the show. A completely different flyer then the one included below. A flyer in which none of our names were on.

No worries. As we enter the club we are greeted by our 2 angry friends. Upon entering the club we can see why. When you first enter the venue theres a very narrow walk way surrounded by the bar and a long ass bench running across the wall. Atop the bar was a single turntable. I say "Poll, yes or No" and we all turned around and trekked back to the border. Talk about jaintsy promoters.

So in surviving my mexico venture continues going strong.  The San Diego event provided to you by that crazy ass promoter was half promoted but the crowd was loyal. They waited patiently among very very long opener sets and showed my crew love. Even though one of the dh's left and left TBC unable to perform we definitely had a good time. Footage will be on the way shortly I have to find a way to out due "The Mid-Season Report".

For you fans who enjoyed my most recent project Watching The Throne, here is a new visual for you:

Thats right ladies and gentleman 106th & Park can't fucks with me.

So next week will be the debut of "HAK'D" my video countdown series.

So,Until next Thursday keep em rolled and burning slow(because you know these things come with a shitload of corny slogans and this time by now I'm hoping that everyone who reads this is saying that part in unison. Like how when they write someone a letter on tv and its narrated in the authors voice. y'all gotta know about that classic 90's tv lol.)

P.S. I love to give away free music so heres another leak off my album "Crown Me King" entitled "Phone Tap" produced by Sundown of Actual Proof

Till next week,

Chuuwee
